Haha, well 10/12/68 has some of the very best sound of any Grateful Dead show in any era, so if they can't warm up to this recording, then there's no hope for say, 6/14/68 or something like that. I did have it on once at a party and while I was loving it, my Deadhead buddy was the only one who said nary a peep about it!

You had 10/12 on at a party or 6/14? If 6/14, I think I can imagine the peeps you heard. More like squawks. Or shrieks. I can be sadly oblivious to bad sound if I'm by myself, but ... well, maybe you could get away with 6/14 at a really LOUD party. ("Huh? The music is ... what did you say? Too fuzzy? Too weird? Huh? Music, what music?")

So, if you put on 10/12, what peeps did the non-Deady "peeps" peep? Did they like it or want you to turn it off or ask who the music was by or what?
